Turbine bypass

Solutions

Turbines in power generation plants have steam extraction lines to supply preheaters, low-pressure turbines, or other
processes. For maintenance, emergency shutdowns, or other reasons, a turbine bypass system is required.

Challenges and difficulties

The bypass system must be able to handle the same pressure drop generated by the turbine, which often requires
designs capable of resisting and dissipating high energy (multistage internals).
In power generation turbines, the bypass often includes steam desuperheating to reduce both pressure and
temperature to near-condenser levels.

Valve Responsibility: Valve malfunction can irreversibly damage the turbine, causing significant economic impact.

Ringo’s Solution and Advantages

Ringo provides a valve with the integrated 3595 PILOT internal solution and multistage box, including additional
stages and, if needed, integrated steam desuperheaters.
