Check Valve

Ringo Check Valves are automatic shut-off devices designed to allow unidirectional flow and prevent reverse fluid flow. This function is critical for protecting sensitive equipment, preventing water hammer, and ensuring system integrity.

Features and MaterialsDesign and Applications

Features

  • Automatic Shut-Off: Closes instantly upon detecting a flow reversal.
  • Closure Assistance: Options with spring-assisted return ensure fast and effective closing.
  • Variety of Designs: Available in swing, tilting disc, piston, and ball configurations to meet different flow and pressure requirements.
  • Stable Operation: Moving elements are aligned to minimize vibration and wear.
  • Low Maintenance: Simple mechanical design reduces maintenance requirements, optimizing system availability.
  • System Protection: Highly resistant to water hammer and back pressure, safeguarding infrastructure.
  • Reliable Sealing: Tight shut-off with metallic or coated discs for extended durability.
  • Flow Efficiency: Low pressure drop during normal operation, ensuring minimal process disruption.
  • Long Service Life: Robust design guarantees extended lifespan, even in severe service conditions.
  • Versatile Connections: Adaptable to flanged, threaded, or welded connections.

Body Design

  • Robust bodies designed to withstand high pressures and temperatures, manufactured in configurations that vary by type (swing, piston, ball, or tilting disc).
  • Bodies can be monoblock, two-piece, or include flanged, threaded, or welded connections, ensuring structural integrity and ease of installation.
  • Designed to minimize pressure drop and withstand water hammer.

Construction Materials

  • Body Materials: Carbon Steel (A105, LF2); Stainless Steel (304, 316); Duplex and Super Duplex Alloys; Nickel Alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy); Low-Temperature Carbon Steel (LTCS).
  • Trim Materials (Internal): Discs or flaps in hardened stainless steel or Stellite-coated; Metallic or plastic-coated seats (PTFE, PEEK) for improved sealing; Stainless steel springs for fast closure (spring-assisted designs); Corrosion- and erosion-resistant materials depending on fluid conditions.

Trim Design

  • Moving elements such as flaps, discs, or pistons allow flow in one direction and block reverse flow.
  • Internal components made from corrosion-, erosion-, and wear-resistant materials; may incorporate springs for fast and secure closure.
  • Trim optimized to prevent vibration and ensure tight sealing.

Applications

  • Rotating Equipment Protection: Safeguards pumps, compressors, and turbines from reverse flow damage.
  • Steam and Condensate Networks: Commonly used in power plants and energy recovery systems.
  • Process Circuits: Applied in water and chemical process circuits to maintain flow direction.
  • Backflow Prevention: Critical in systems at risk of flow reversal, ensuring operational safety.
