Plug Valves

Ringo Plug Valves feature a cylindrical or conical plug that rotates to close, providing secure sealing and high wear resistance, especially in high-pressure applications. Their robust design ensures reliability and durability under demanding operating conditions.

Features and MaterialsDesign and Applications

Features

  • Quick Shut-Off: Rotating plug enables fast and efficient opening and closing.
  • Hardened Seat Surface: Seat treated with materials such as Stellite or tungsten for maximum wear resistance and durability.
  • Low Pressure Drop: Minimal pressure loss in fully open position, optimizing process flow.
  • Versatile Construction: Monoblock or multi-component body adaptable to service and application requirements.
  • Interchangeable Seat: Interchangeable seat design significantly extends valve service life.
  • Enhanced Sealing: Incorporates secondary sealing to ensure zero external leakage.
  • High Durability: Excellent resistance to corrosion and abrasion, suitable for challenging fluids.
  • Operation Options: Manual or ISO 5211 actuator operation for greater versatility.
  • Moderate Cycles: Designed for moderate operating cycles, helping preserve seal integrity.
  • Wide Range: Available in ANSI 150–2500 and DN 15–600 sizes.

Body Design

  • The plug valve body is engineered to withstand high pressures and extreme temperatures, with robust construction ensuring structural integrity. It can be monoblock or multi-piece with flanged or threaded connections. Geometry facilitates efficient sealing and smooth operation, minimizing internal wear. Complies with API 6D and API 600 standards, among others.
  • Size range: DN 15 to DN 600 or larger, depending on design.
  • Pressure classes: ANSI 150 to ANSI 2500 or higher.

Trim Design

  • The trim includes a cylindrical, conical, or spherical plug made from erosion- and corrosion-resistant materials. Seats and seals are designed to ensure tight shut-off and minimize leakage even under severe conditions. The design allows for long service life and relatively easy maintenance.

Applications

  • Critical Lines: Essential in refineries and petrochemical industries for fluid isolation and control.
  • Corrosive Services: Ideal for steam and corrosive gas services.
  • Power Generation and Chemical Plants: Applications requiring high reliability in electric power and chemical plants.

Construction Materials

  • Body Materials: Carbon Steel (A105, A216 WCB); Stainless Steel (304, 316); Duplex and Super Duplex Alloys; Nickel Alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy) for highly corrosive services; materials resistant to high temperatures and aggressive environments.
  • Trim Materials: Plug and seat in stainless steel or hardened alloys such as Stellite or tungsten carbide for wear resistance; seals and packing in materials suitable for high pressure and temperature (graphite, PTFE, etc.); internal components designed to minimize leakage and wear even under severe conditions.
