Control Butterfly Valve

Ringo Control Butterfly Valve is a specialized variant of conventional butterfly valves, designed for continuous and precise regulation. Its eccentric disc offers low pressure drop and linear response, making it an efficient choice for flow modulation in demanding control applications.

Features and MaterialsDesign and Applications

Features

  • Precise Modulation: Continuous partial rotation allows highly accurate flow modulation.
  • Eccentric Design: Double or triple offset separates the disc from the seat during opening, reducing wear and extending service life.
  • Optimized Response: Disc profile optimized for minimal hysteresis and agile control response.
  • Low Operating Torque: Requires low operating torque, allowing use of more compact and efficient actuators.
  • Seat Options: Metallic or PTFE seats selectable according to service requirements and temperature.
  • Durability in Frequent Cycles: Robust construction supports frequent operation cycles with minimal material fatigue.
  • System Integration: Easily integrates with positioners and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Fast Response: Quickly responds to control signal changes, crucial for dynamic processes.
  • Fluid Versatility: Compatible with water, gases, and fluids containing suspended particles.
  • Connection Configurations: Available in wafer, lug, or flanged configurations.

Body Design

  • Primarily manufactured in wafer, lug, and flanged versions, with compact, lightweight construction facilitating installation even in large-diameter piping.
  • Available in concentric configurations for standard services and double or triple offset designs for demanding control applications, reducing friction and seat wear.
  • Compliant with API 609 and EN 593 standards.
  • Size range: DN 50 to DN 2000.
  • Pressure ratings: Up to ANSI 600, depending on design and material.

Construction Materials

  • Body Materials: Ductile Iron; Carbon Steel (A216 WCB, A105); Stainless Steel (304, 316); Duplex and Super Duplex Alloys; Special Alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy).
  • Trim Materials (Internal): Disc in stainless steel, aluminum-bronze, or coated with Stellite, Inconel, or other hard materials; Metallic seats (triple-offset) or soft seats (PTFE, elastomers) depending on application; Shaft in hardened stainless steel or special alloys for higher wear resistance; Packing and seals in materials resistant to temperature, pressure, and fluid chemistry (graphite, Viton, PTFE, etc.).

Trim Design

  • Profiled control disc optimized for improved response and stability in modulation applications.
  • In eccentric designs, the disc separates from the seat during opening, reducing contact and enabling precise control.
  • Seats can be metallic for severe service or soft materials (PTFE, elastomers) for enhanced tightness in standard service.
  • Shaft designed to minimize hysteresis and withstand frequent cycles with minimal deformation.

Applications

  • Flow Control: Essential in power plants, chemical industry, and mining.
  • Gas Regulation: Critical for regulating air and process gases.
  • Water Treatment: Applications in water treatment plants handling suspended solids.
