Globe Valve

Ringo Globe Valves are a standard solution for isolation and occasional modulation functions. They feature tight shut-off through a plug moving perpendicular to the seat, providing reliability and durability in various industrial applications.

Features and MaterialsDesign and Applications

Features

  • Reliable and Tight Shut-Off: Provides secure, leak-proof closure, crucial for system isolation.
  • Pressure Drop: Higher pressure drop compared to gate valves due to the flow path.
  • Seat Options: Metallic or flexible seats selectable according to fluid characteristics and service requirements.
  • Robust Construction: Built to withstand high pressures and temperatures, ensuring reliable operation.
  • Versatile Operation: Available for manual or actuator operation.
  • Limited Modulation: Optimized for occasional modulation cycles, helping preserve trim service life.
  • Flow Designs: Available in straight-through or 90° angle designs to suit different piping configurations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Bolted bonnet or monoblock construction according to applicable standards.
  • Long Seal Life: Packing and seals designed for extended service life.
  • Easy Maintenance: Facilitates replacement of internal components, reducing downtime.

Body Design

  • Typically “Y” or vertical bodies, manufactured according to API 600 and ASME B16.34 standards.
  • Bolted bonnet or monoblock construction for easy maintenance.
  • Geometry ensures mechanical strength for high pressures and temperatures, though with higher pressure drop.
  • Size range: DN 15 to DN 600 (larger sizes available depending on design).
  • Pressure classes: ANSI 150 to ANSI 1500 or higher.

Construction Materials

  • Body Materials: Carbon Steel (A105, A216 WCB), Stainless Steel (304, 316), Duplex and Super Duplex Alloys, Special Alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy), Low-Temperature Carbon Steel (LTCS).
  • Trim Materials (Internal): Plugs and seats in stainless steel or carbon steel with wear-resistant coatings (Stellite, tungsten carbide); metallic or flexible seats; seals and packing in graphite, PTFE, or other high-performance materials.

Trim Design

  • Includes plugs and seats made from corrosion-, erosion-, and wear-resistant materials.
  • Seats can be metallic or soft depending on the application, with special coatings to extend service life.
  • Sealing systems ensure tightness and smooth, durable operation.

Applications

  • General Isolation: In water and clean fluid networks requiring secure shut-off.
  • Occasional Modulation: For occasional flow adjustments in industrial plants.
  • Steam and Gas Systems: Used in non-critical steam and gas systems.
