Actuators

Ringo Actuators, available in diaphragm and piston pneumatic versions, are designed to automate valves with precise and powerful motion using compressed air. They provide an optimal combination of accuracy and force, suitable for various industrial control applications.

Features and MaterialsDesign and Applications

Features

  • Diaphragm Actuators: Use a flexible diaphragm to convert air pressure into mechanical motion; provide smooth and precise control, ideal for fine-regulation applications; lower maximum force compared to piston actuators but offer fast response and low maintenance; constructed from corrosion-resistant materials suitable for demanding environments; operate at air pressures up to 12 bar and tolerate a wide temperature range; preferred for applications requiring precision and delicate control.
  • Piston Actuators: Designed for applications requiring high force and fast response; operate with compressed air for linear or rotary motion, with double-acting or spring-return options; robust construction in carbon steel or stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and high pressures (up to 12 bar); wide operational temperature range, typically -60 °C to 160 °C; compatible with accessories such as positioners, solenoid valves, and travel limiters; ideal for large valves or severe services that require greater force.

Design

  • Diaphragm Actuators: Flexible diaphragm transmits air pressure to generate smooth, precise linear motion; compact, lightweight, and easy to maintain, with quiet operation; incorporate spring-return or double-acting mechanisms to meet various operational needs.
  • Piston Actuators: Robust steel or aluminum bodies convert air pressure into linear or rotary motion via pistons; designed to withstand high pressures and severe conditions, with double-acting and spring-return options; prepared for integration with accessories such as positioners and solenoid valves, facilitating automation in complex industrial applications.

Applications

  • Industrial Automation: Essential for automation in oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
  • Valve Control: Fundamental for valve operation in power generation and chemical plants.
  • Flow and Pressure Regulation: Used in water treatment systems for precise flow and pressure control.
  • Precision vs. Force: Diaphragm actuators for high precision, piston actuators for applications requiring high force.

Construction Materials

  • Diaphragm Actuators: Body made of carbon steel with anti-corrosion coating, aluminum, or stainless steel depending on model and application; diaphragm made from flexible, durable materials such as fiber-reinforced rubber or special elastomers; internal components in stainless steel or carbon steel treated for wear and corrosion resistance; seals and gaskets in EPDM, Viton, or similar materials, selected for media compatibility.
  • Piston Actuators: Body and covers in carbon steel (A105) or stainless steel (304, 316), with optional anti-corrosion coatings; pistons made from anodized aluminum or stainless steel for high wear resistance; seals and packing in PTFE, expanded graphite, or specific elastomers for high pressure and temperature; internal components designed for durability in severe services, with corrosion- and erosion-resistant materials.
